Felicia Clayborne is a dedicated community leader, disability advocate, and passionate traveler with over 30 years of travel experience. Her journey has been marked by resilience, faith, and a strong commitment to creating inclusive opportunities for others.
In 2014, Felicia served as a travel chaperone for another travel group, helping ensure that participants enjoyed safe and meaningful experiences. However, about a month after returning from one of those trips, Felicia received a phone call from the group's owner stating that she would no longer be invited to participate because of her disability. The owner claimed that a person with a disability could not assist another person with a disability.
Rather than allowing that setback to discourage her, Felicia chose to respond with grace and determination. She wished them well and began researching other travel groups in Southeastern Wisconsin that welcomed and empowered people with disabilities. When she discovered that no such group existed, she decided to create one herself.
On April 20, 2017, Felicia founded Abilities Travel Club, starting with just a handful of members. Since then, the organization has grown into a vibrant and supportive community that gives people of all abilities the chance to explore the world together. Through her leadership, Felicia continues to inspire others by proving that barriers can be broken and dreams can be achieved through faith, courage, and compassion.
